Process of varying one or more properties of a periodic waveform (carrier signal) with a separate signal called the modulation signal that typically contains information to be transmitted.
Modulation signal, for example, can be an audio signal, video signal, digital signal (sequence of binary digits), or a bitstream from a computer.
There are a few different types of modulations:
